SIX SIGMAContinuous Flow

Overview

Continuous flow brings velocity to your organisation. With continuous flow each process flows smoothly into the next one driving down lead times, inventory and floor space, thus boosting capacity and improving quality with minimal investment. Delivered in-house, this course follows on from our Value Stream Mapping course.

Course Objectives

Having developed a current and future state Value Stream Map, this course takes lean implementation one step further. Participants are taken through the development of standard work, layout for flow and work balance with the power of continuous flow demonstrated through simulation exercises.

When delivered in-house, the second day is spent on the shop floor applying the learning within a real value stream.

Key Skills / Learning Objectives

Through the combination of interactive discussions, tutorials and case studies, our course will enable the delegates to:

  • Apply continuous flow as a lean technique to produce products efficiently with minimum resources and reduced lead time
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous flow and its limitations
  • Develop standard work and find and fix problems within the flow context
  • Balance the work against the customer demand

Practical workshops are designed to reinforce the discussions and topics. This style of delivery makes the course both memorable and enjoyable for participants, ensuring long-term learning.
