- Lean Six Sigma: its history, methodology and examples of its use.
- Key concepts: Value Stream Mapping, Common cause & special cause defects, Y=F(X), Statistical thinking, Hidden factory & Cost of Poor Quality
- Roles and behaviours within Lean Six Sigma
- Project selection, scoping and execution
- The Lean Six Sigma improvement process:
- Recognise and Define: Identifying high impact projects, the problem statement, the team charter, SIPOC and the "As is" process
- Measure: KPIs, attribute and continuous data, sample size & data collection, gauge R&R, process capability
- Analyses: 5 Whys, Cause and Effect diagram, graphical analysis, Pareto, time series charts, identify variation sources, hypothesis testing, Design of Experiments
- Improve: Lean and Six Sigma improvement tools. Generate, select, pilot an implement solution, optimise
- Control: Re-baseline, sustain the gain; TPM, SPC, FMEA
Further development opportunities suggested would be Lean Six Sigma Champion and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Consultation can also be provided for Lean Six Sigma deployment and on special projects.
